The Most Wonderful Time of the Year! KBS Photography, Pittsburgh, PA

Hope everyone is prepared for the holidays. (Unlike yours truly)

I have been so busy preparing my business for 2012 that I seemed to had forgotten to start shopping!  I conquered some power shopping over the weekend and today  is the day I try not injure anyone at the mall lol

That being said I want to thank everyone who came out to the Pittsburgh Captured opening at the Gallery on Baum!  It was a smashing success and the show will be available for viewing until January 7, 2012.  I couldn't have been more happy with the turnout of the evening.  It was truly an inspiring and humbling night for me. The Gallery on Baum is located at 4643 Baum Blvd in Shadyside (Pittsburgh, PA)

Thanks to everyone for making one certain photographer from Pittsburgh a very grateful girl!

Humbled at the Holidays

This post may have no pictures but it's very important!  Well to me at least, lol :)

I am truly grateful for every single one of my clients and every single person that takes the time to read my blogs or facebook posts.  You all are the reason that I get to do what I love as a job!  This job has truly brought something more meaningful into my life and I am forever appreciative.

So what sparked this particular blog of thanks?  You!  I have recently had some of the most humbling and remarkably sweet posts from clients on my Facebook page.  I would like to share a few with you...


"i love the pictures you took during the summer in north park for animal friends of my dog. i have the 8x10 hung in my living room, 3 of the 4x6s in a frame, and another 5x7 framed in the dining room. there were too many good ones to pick from!! i also bought 1 for my parents for a xmas present. you were fantastic with my barky wiggly Duffy! :) i've told a bunch of people about you. you're terrific!"

I am becoming increasingly aware that you can't and will never make everyone in this world love you, as hard as I may try, but I find such solace in the fact that these wonderful people went out of their way to reach out share the love.  I hope each and everyone of you finds a photographer that you can build a relationship with and tell you story whether it is me or one of the other fabulous talents in this world.

Long Time, No Post!

Well life has picked up and so has the photography business.  I have had a blast getting the Aphrodite Collection going as well as shooting friend and country artist, Sydney Hutchko for her upcoming EP!


Here are a couple of my favorite shots from my shoot with Syd...there are just too many favorites to choose from!

 

We had so much fun and I am looking forward to shooting her again as well as playing with her band again this summer :)

So I am so excited that the website is up and running! www.kbsphotos.com

Also, I had a busy week taking and editing the first shots for the Aphrodite Collection, my collection of Vintage Boudoir photos! I am so excited to get up and running.

Also, I went and visited the abandoned Beverly Hills Hotel located off of Babcock Blvd. It looks like it was quite the place to be back in the day! I would have loved to see the people bustling in and out, I can imagine just how neat it was. The remains were really great and hopefully I will have a partner in crime and will venture inside on my next visit.

The Wheels are turning...

On a more artsy note I was thinking about how many people are defined by their habits...do you order the same cup of coffee every time you stop at Starbucks, do you always go the same way to work or do you change your path sometimes, do you listen to the same song each time you want to invoke a certain mood? 

Change is such a huge part of our world but there are so many constants.  I think a photo project showcasing this would be an interesting social experiement, a ton of fun and make for some really cool photos.

I have started some small scale advertising on craiglist today with a Pet Photo special!  Also registered my domain kbsphotos.com and ordered business cards!

The beginning of something wonderful...

As my travels in life have taken me from one path to another I found myself in the middle of a hobby I loved.  I decided to make that hobby my new profession and share my passion for life with everyone around me.

A little about myself...I am a wife, sister, daughter and friend.  I wake up with a smile on my face nearly every day.  I love sunshine, yoga, triathlons, animals and anything that encompasses the spirit of life!
